Discover the art of wheel throwing in our immersive 6-week ceramics course, guided by experienced ceramic artists Connie Lichti and Tian You.

Throughout this course, you will be introduced to the full pottery-making process on the wheel. You’ll learn how to centre clay and throw basic forms, then progress through trimming, refining shapes, decorating surfaces, attaching handles, and glazing your bisque-fired work. By the end of the course, you will have a clear understanding of each stage involved in creating handmade ceramics from start to finish.

This course is designed to support all skill levels. Whether you have little or no prior experience, or you are looking to refine and expand your existing skills, wheel throwing is taught progressively with techniques adapted to each student’s level. Beginners will focus on core foundations, while more advanced students are encouraged to develop complexity, consistency, and personal style as they progress through the term.

By the end of the course, you will take home your own finished pieces—such as mugs, bowls, cups, jugs, or plant pots—along with the confidence to continue developing your pottery practice. All finished works are made to be food-safe, dishwasher-safe, and microwave-safe.
