We’re excited to offer a dedicated 4-week Wheel Throwing course designed specifically for homeschoolers aged 8 and above.
This course introduces young students to the fascinating world of pottery in a fun, supportive, and hands-on studio environment. Whether they are complete beginners or already have some experience with clay, students will be guided step-by-step through the fundamentals of wheel throwing while being encouraged to explore their own creativity and ideas.
Throughout the course, students will learn how to work with clay on the pottery wheel, including centering clay, shaping basic forms, and developing confidence in handling tools and materials. As they progress, they will also be introduced to simple decorating techniques and gain an understanding of how ceramic pieces are finished and fired.
The focus is on creativity, exploration, and enjoyment, while also building real technical skills in a structured and age-appropriate way. Each student will be supported at their own level, ensuring a positive learning experience in a relaxed and encouraging group setting.
By the end of the course, students will have created their own unique ceramic pieces and gained a meaningful introduction to the art of wheel throwing.
